In general, it requires a minimum of 12 feet to properly hang it. A bit less or more will not be an issue by making the anchor points higher or lower depending on the space available.

A Brazilian hammock requires minimal care in normal use. As for anything in life, the more you care for it, the longer it should last. That being said, if you need to refresh your hammock, you may wash it by hand in warm water with a mild detergent. You can also machine wash it in the same conditions on gentle cycle and by tying the end loops together to prevent tangling. In either option, please hang to dry!

It's not mandatory to do so but storing your hammock after use will protect it from the elements and will keep it in tip top shape for a longer period of time. Keep in mind that wetness can cause your hammock to develop molds if wet over a long period of time. However, the hammock's worst enemy is the sun. It will fade the colours and slowly degrade the fabric making it not as soft as it originally was. The other option is to use a hammock protective sock which will give you the best of both worlds. It's like driving a convertible car. Once you are done with your Sunday drive, you drive it in the garage with the roof down, or leave it outside with the roof up. In both cases, you are protecting your car. It should be the same for your hammock.
