We had a comfy hammock for about 5 years that I bought in Thailand. It served us well, but after being left out in the sun and rain a lot, it ultimately faded and looked pretty gross and then eventually tore. Our new hammock is beautiful and works perfectly with the hammock stand we already had. It's bigger than our old one, so it accommodates the two of us and our two dogs even more easily than the old one did.
I want to take better care of it than I did the last one, so hopefully it will stay beautiful and intact for a long time.
I really like that it came with a bag to store it in. We have it hanging on a hook by the door, so I think that might make it easier to care for because bringing it in at the end of the day will be less of a hassle. (Posted on 4/9/12)

My son now sleeps on his hammock every night. He loves it! It is so comfortable that I am a little bit jealous. He unhooks it every morning and now has a wonderful room to play in without a bed taking up all that space. I ordered it and it was delivered extremely quickly (I think it may have even been the next day). My 2nd purchase from hammock universe for a bed replacement. The first was a string Mayan hammock that held up well (2+ years). The Mayan was great but decided to go for a more solid construction as I am big. Probably will get the Mayan for summer months as it is cooler.
I cannot imagine sleeping in anything other than a hammock and the service and products of Hammock Universe keeps me coming back and recommending others. (Posted on 10/11/11)

the woven strings on the mayan hammock we bought last year all snapped. Did not last very long even though it was the super thick big one. This hammock looks to be more durable. I would recommend taking it inside in the little carrying bag after each use. These hammocks do not weather well. (Posted on 8/19/11)

I purchased this hammock for my husband for Father's day to put in our backyard. I also purchased eco-friendly tree straps to hang it up. It was quick and easy to hand and very comfortable for an afternoon nap! I can't comment on how it handles in the weather because we unclip it every day and put it away in our shed - but that's how easy it is to use!
This style of hammock does not have bars through the ends to keep it open/flat like some hammock styles so it sort of cocoons around you when you are in it - we like it and find it very comfortable. I like it better than the rope hammocks we have used in the past because my 2 young children would always get their arms and legs stuck down through the holes between ropes whereas now that doesn't happen.
I will definitely recommend this product/website to others - my hammock shipped free and I received it in 24 hours! (Posted on 7/3/11)
